Submit your Video Article to the Video Journal of Education

We’re reaching out to invite you to submit to a new publication: The Video Journal of EducationThe Video Journal of Education is a new publication from the Digital Futures Institute at Teachers College, Columbia University. With this journal, we aim to create a new venue in which scholars can engage audiences, through video as a primary means of communication, with topics in education.

We believe that video offers opportunities for scholars to reach audiences in new ways that cannot be accomplished in print, and that the field of education will benefit from more use of a medium already widely embraced in communication beyond academia. At a time when it is imperative to consider the impacts and audiences of our work, video can play a key role in broadening our approach to dissemination.

We are seeking contributors to our first issue - to produce a short video article and help us not only share your work but also model possibilities for this form in educational research. In this case, video articles would be short (6-15 minutes), grounded in research, and accessible to non-specialist audiences. More information is in the video guidelines at the link below. The expected publication of final pieces would be Spring/Summer of 2027, with a rough cut screening anticipated for winter of 2026/2027 and final videos requested in Spring of 2027.

If you’re interested, please review the info at the link below and let us know if you have any questions. We welcome your input in helping us shape this new project and would be very happy to answer questions, and receive or discuss feedback.

To learn more about the opportunity and submit, visit the Video Journal of Education websiteVideo Journal of Education website. Our submission deadline is March 16, 2026.

We look forward to receiving your submissions,

Lalitha Vasudevan, Charles Lang, and Joe Riina-Ferrie - Video Journal of Education Editors
