Outstanding Graduate Student Paper Award

The Structural Equation Modeling and Multilevel Modeling Methods (SEM-MLM) SIG invites graduate students to submit research papers for consideration for the annual Outstanding Graduate Student Paper Award. 

This award recognizes an exemplary graduate student research paper that contributes to methodological advancements or applications in structural equation modeling or multilevel modeling. The award is conferred annually, and the recipient will be recognized at the SIG Annual Business Meeting.


Eligibility

Nominations are encouraged from domestic and international graduate students. Both self-nominations and nominations from a faculty supervisor are welcome.

Nominees must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  1. The nominee must be the first author/sole author on a paper accepted for presentation at the upcoming annual AERA meeting through the SEM-MLM SIG. The nominated student may have faculty or graduate-student coauthors.
  2. The paper should consist of original research that has not been presented or published elsewhere.

Nomination Process

The call for nominations will be announced on November 1 following notification of AERA proposal acceptance. Nominations are due by December 31.

To submit a nomination, send the following materials electronically to the SIG Chair:

  1. Email indicating that the paper should be considered for the award; and
  2. The final version of the research paper. The submission should be comparable to a manuscript prepared for journal submission.
