Who would you like to see leading the Montessori Education SIG for the next two years? Tell us! We will send them an invitation recognizing them as a nominee and providing them with more information they need to consider running for a SIG officer.

Submit your nomination via email to gerkerhr@ucmail.uc.edu. 

Will you run for office? Tell us! We are especially eager to staff the Montessori Education SIG leadership with people like YOU, current members and devoted supporters of the field of Montessori Education research. Our ballot must include 2 candidates for Program Chair and 2 candidates for Communications Chair. To get your name on the ballot, provide your name, institutional affiliation, and bio (200-word maximum) by Friday, October 23, 2026.  At least one sentence of the bio should summarize your past SIG participation (e.g., activity as a membership, author, reviewer, session discussant, session chair, etc). Ballots must be reviewed and submitted to AERA by Friday, October 30, 2026

Greetings, and we hope you are having a nice summer! 

Please see below updates and involvement opportunities for the AERA Montessori Education SIG. We’d love to have you involved! 

• The 2026 AERA Annual Meeting will take place April 8 – 12, 2026, in Los Angeles, CA, and the deadline for presentation submissions is July 25, 2025. More information is available in the Call for Proposals. 
• Related to the call for proposals, we are seeking additional proposal reviewers. If you are interested in serving, please email Brooke Culclasure at brooke.culclasure@furman.edu as soon as possible. Reviewers must be members of AERA to serve. 
• If you haven’t yet joined AERA, it’s not too late! We encourage you to join or renew your membership and then join the AERA Montessori SIG (only $5). Our long-term viability is dependent on maintaining strong membership numbers.
