Message from SIG Chair

Dear Improvement Science SIG community,

I am honored to serve as the chair of our SIG for 2026-267. Now is a critical time for our SIG to serve as a space for connection, solidarity, and shared learning amongst many communities who are striving to advance humanizing continuous improvement in educational systems.

Here’s a recap of our accomplishments this past year:

• Issued a Fall 2025 / Spring 2026 Newsletter 
• Featured Improvement Stories in interview format on Spotify
• Hosted an Improvement Book Club with leading voices in improvement research
• Hosted an Early Career Event: Mapping the Field of Education Improvement with distinguished panelists representing a variety of IS approaches
• Continued our shared community calendar of SIG-related events 
• Expanded our “Friends of the SIG” database with related improvement communities
• Entered into partnership with Myers Education Press and their improvement science book series
• Awarded two SIG Awards: 
  • Early Career Award Winner:  Carlos Sandoval
  • Field Building Award Winner: Brandi Hinnant-Crawford

A big thank you to our former Past Chair, Elizabeth Zumpe for leading our SIG during the 2025-2026 year and to the entire SIG Executive Leadership committee for contributing their service to make these events happen.
