The School Community, Climate, and Culture (SC3) Special Interest Group (SIG) was established in 1994. The purpose of the SIG is to disseminate research on school community, climate, and culture and to provide a venue for the research collaboration of its members.

School community, climate, and culture research spans academic disciplines. So which academic journals publish work on these topics? We conducted a scan of peer-reviewed publications in journals with impact factors with "school climate" in the title from the past three years (2019 until present) on Education Resources Information Center (ERIC). Congratulations to the 2022 winner of the Outstanding Dissertation in the Field of School Climate, Jennifer Renick! The award is issued annually to the best Ph.D. or Ed.D. dissertation related to school climate. Past winners of the award can be found here.
