Hello and welcome to the Lives of Teachers SIG!

I am Bec Buchanan, Associate Professor of Curriculum, Assessment, and Instruction at the University of Maine. And I am honored to serve as the chair of this scholarly community. I have been involved with the Lives of Teachers SIG for almost a decade. We are a robust research community that explores the experiences of teachers holistically from preparation throughout their careers. This brings together interdisciplinary examination of teachers’ work, the personal and professional selves, and the contexts within which they teach. 

If you are new to the SIG, please feel free to check out our sessions at AERA, come to a business meeting, or reach out to any member of the executive committee. We’d love to hear from you and share your work that relates to the examination of the Lives of Teachers with our community.
