AERA Meet the Editors (formerly Journal Talks) are informal sessions designed to facilitate journal editors' communication on a one-to-one basis with reviewers, authors, and potential authors. Each registered journal is included in one Meet the Editors session at our 2026 Annual Meeting in Los Angeles from April 8–12. Journals participating in a session are assigned to a specific timeslot. There are no restrictions placed on the number of journal representatives who may occupy an assigned session. Further information and instructions will be provided in confirmation emails to registrants when timeslots are finalized.
Registration for Meet the Editors is now open. To register for Meet the Editors, please go to "My AERA" on aera.net. Once you have logged in to your AERA account, please scroll down the page until you see "2026 AERA Annual Meeting" and click on "Submit a Meet the Editors Journal Talk." You will then be redirected to the Meet the Editors registration portal, where you can click "Continue Submitting" in the bottom right-hand corner and follow the steps to submit your Meet the Editors request. Please note that the last step of the process will ask you to upload a PDF; to bypass this step, please upload a blank PDF.
AERA Meet the Editors is a first-come, first-served event, and slots will be filled quickly, so please register online for Meet the Editors at your earliest convenience. AERA will make every effort to accommodate all requests, but space is limited. Please submit your request by February 1, 2026 for best availability.
Registration is required for participating journals. Reviewers, authors, and annual meeting attendees are encouraged to visit the Meet the Editors sessions to meet the journal representatives but should not register for the sessions.
