10 Tips for 2022 Annual Meeting Attendees

  1. Claim Your Online Account
Claim your online platform account for program details and setting your agenda. Find the e-mail that was sent to you from Pathable (“AERA Annual Meeting <no-reply@pathable.com>”) and click through to log in. If you haven’t received a message to claim your account, email support@pathable.com.

  2. Add Sessions to Your Agenda
To add sessions to your agenda, go to the main navigation menu and select Schedule > Agenda and then click the plus (+) sign next to any session(s) that you want to add to your agenda.  When in the platform, set up your profile and meeting agenda. Make sure you’re logged in to save items to your agenda.

  3. Prepare to Join a Virtual Session
To join a virtual session, you will need a computer/mobile device and a stable internet connection (a connection of 3 Mbps or higher is recommended). Join via Google Chrome, Firefox, or Microsoft Edge web browser. If experiencing technical issues, close out of all browser tabs or windows and clear your browser cache. If you need assistance, e-mail support@pathable.com.

  4. Check Your Bandwidth
If attending virtually, be mindful of your location’s bandwidth, which may limit the platform performance if there are numerous devices running at the same time.

  5. To Join a Virtual Session
To join a virtual session, navigate to the specific session page (Schedule > Agenda/My Agenda > Click on the session). On the session page, you will be able to join the session 1 minute before the specified start time by clicking “Join Live Meeting.”

  6. Download the AERA App
Download the AERA app for mobile connectivity and instant access to your agenda and session info. (Search for “AERA 2022” in the Apple App store or Google Play Store.) The app and the online platform serve as the meeting program. (A mobile device connection of 3 Mbps or higher is highly recommended).

  7. Pack the Essentials
If attending in person, pack your mask, laptop/mobile device, headphones/earbuds (for joining the virtual sessions) and upload COVID-19 vaccination documentation to SafeAccess. Locate the Safe Access invite e-mailed to you. If you didn’t receive an invite, email support@safeaccess.app.

  8. Chairs, Presenters, and Discussants Arrive Early
If chairing, presenting, or discussing at a session, arrive 20 minutes early virtually or onsite and review roles with fellow presenters. See full set of speaker tips here.

  9. Review Resource Materials
Review these comprehensive resource materials for presenting, chairing, exhibiting, and using the virtual platform. View videos from training webinars for presenters using the AERA i-Presentation platform for paper presentations.

  10. Dos and Don’ts
  • Do have a great time sharing, learning, and supporting peer educational research. We are looking forward to being together, whether virtually or in person, to advance new educational findings!
  • Don’t wait to verify your COVID-19 vaccination on site (if you will be joining on site)—upload it today. (See #6 above.)
  • Do join virtual sessions early to ensure you are not having any technical issues and your connectivity is good.

Don’t share session links, or sessions will be cancelled.
