When and where will the 2021 AERA Annual Meeting take place?
The meeting will be held virtually Thursday, April 8 – Monday, April 12.

When will the schedule be available?
The online program will be available in early February.

How will each session type be facilitated and what will be the duration of each session?
We will utilize the 2021 AERA Interactive Presentation Gallery for posters. We plan to host live paper and roundtable sessions as well as invited speaker sessions and symposia. We are working diligently to create a schedule that reflects best practices for a virtual environment and can accommodate robust virtual programming, taking into consideration multiple time zones of presenting scholars. Details regarding the facilitation and duration of each session type will be shared on the AERA website as they are confirmed.

Does AERA have volunteers, scholarships or financial support for presenters and/or attendees?
No. Due to the size, scope and logistical management of the meeting, AERA relies entirely on paid staff to fulfill essential needs. A number of AERA Divisions and Special Interest Groups (SIGs) provide scholarships. To find out more, contact your Division or SIG leadership.

What are the registration rates?
We strongly encourage scholars to join AERA through December 31, 2021 to be eligible for discounted registration for the virtual Annual Meeting.

How do I request an official Letter of Invitation from AERA?
Send an email to annualmtg@aera.net with your full name as well as the title of your paper(s) and a letter can be created for you.


What exhibit and sponsorship opportunities are available?

How can I secure a listing in the program to host a virtual event during the 2021 Annual Meeting?
AERA is assessing Affiliated Space Group opportunities during the Annual Meeting. Information will be available at www.aera.net when details are confirmed.


When will I find out if my submission was accepted?
The accept/reject notifications were sent October 30, 2020. If you were the submitter of the paper or session, a copy of the message will be in your Message Center. To access the Message Center, go to www.aera.net. Click “Login” at the upper right of the screen. After you log in, click “My AERA” at the top of the page. On the “My AERA” page, scroll down to the 2021 Annual Meeting and click “2021 AERA Annual Meeting Online Portal.” The Message Center link is on the Welcome page. If you were not the submitter, please request a copy of the message from the submitter or send an email to annualmtg@aera.net to inquire about the decision. Please include your name, institution, email, and the title of the submission in the request to annualmtg@aera.net.

How do I make changes to my paper and/or session?
Send all program updates including changes to paper titles, session titles, authors, and session Chairs and Discussants to annualmtg@aera.net. Include the title of the paper or session along with the requested change. Author updates should specify the name, affiliation, email address, role (presenting or non-presenting) of the author as well as the author order. The deadline for all program updates is March 1, 2021.


Should I make arrangements for hotel and airfare?
No, the 2021 Annual Meeting will be virtual. Transportation and hotel accommodations are not necessary. A registration fee will be required to log in to the meeting.


Will child care be available during the 2021 AERA Annual Meeting?
The 2021 Annual Meeting will be virtual. Childcare will not be provided.
