Catholic Education SIG 175
SIG Purpose
To support, promote, and disseminate information, research, and evaluation of Catholic education written from a diverse set of perspectives, including interdisciplinary and international issues.
Message from SIG Chair

The Catholic Education SIG continues to support and impact Catholic schools and the students and families they serve.  Our 2016 annual meeting in Washington DC was a great success. The SIG hosted several major events including paper sessions, a symposium, and roundtable discussions. At our Business Meeting, we discussed our bylaws and AERA's communication with SIG Chairs about soon updating their bylaw structure. We also reminded members of the SIG's Catholic Education Dissertation Award for research related to Catholic schools. Please promote this opportunity to young scholars!

Research on Catholic education is vital not only to Catholic schools but to the entire educational spectrum.  For this reason we must continue to increase our visibility within AERA, particularly in membership and the number of presentation proposals. We are growing steadily and looking to expand further.  Please invite your colleagues to join our efforts to transform Catholic education through research.

Thank you to all who applied for our 2017 conference in San Antonio, TX. We look forward to a great conference!
