Welcome to the AERA Systems Thinking in Education Special Interest Group.

It is my honor to welcome you to the Systems Thinking in Education Special Interest Group (SIG) of the American Educational Research Association.

Our SIG brings together members from around the world who share a commitment to understanding education as a complex, interconnected system. We leverage systems thinking to explore the relationships, structures, and dynamics that shape educational experiences and outcomes across classrooms, schools, communities, and societies.

Systems perspectives offer powerful tools for understanding change, fostering innovation, and advancing equity. Our community provides a space for meaningful dialogue, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the exchange of ideas that can inform both research and practice. Together, we can strengthen our collective understanding of educational systems and support scholarship that makes a meaningful difference.

As Chair, I look forward to working with you to build an inclusive, vibrant, and intellectually stimulating community. Thank you for being part of this important work.

Warm regards,

Lok-Sze Wong, Ph.D.
Chair, Systems Thinking in Education SIG
