The 2024 AERA Annual Meeting theme—“Dismantling Racial Injustice and Constructing Educational Possibilities Across P–20 Systems: A Call to Action”—“asks researchers, practitioners, and policy makers to imagine boldly what education spaces free of racial injustice can look like.” The call for submissions will be released May 31. Submissions are due July 31.

The 2023 Annual Meeting, with the theme "Interrogating Consequential Education Research in Pursuit of Truth," took place in Chicago, IL, April 13–16 and virtually May 4–5. The call for submissions closed on August 1 (extended from July 27).

Site selection for the AERA Annual Meeting, which gathers more than 15,000 attendees each year, is undertaken with thorough consideration of multiple factors, including, but not limited to, geographic and cultural diversity, costs for attendees, available meeting space, and social justice record. Read more
