The AERA Annual Meeting offers several special opportunities for attendees to enrich their meeting experience. Exhibits, special events, and services related to early-career research, career development, and publishing are among the opportunities to expect in Vancouver.

The AERA Exhibit Hall is always a must-stop event. Attendees will not want to miss visiting it in the Vancouver Convention Centre. Over 80 exhibitors will be on site to inform attendees about new products and services, including the latest publications. Be sure to stop by the AERA Booth to learn more about the opportunities that come with AERA membership.

Two poster sessions provide a glimpse of research being done by early-career scholars and graduate students. “Excellence in Education Research: Early Career Scholars and Their Work” on Saturday, April 14, will highlight the work of 29 fellows in five fellowship programs. Susan H. Fuhrman (Teachers College, Columbia University, and National Academy of Education) and George L. Wimberly (AERA Director of Professional Development) will provide program remarks at the 4:05 p.m. session.

“Promising Scholarship in Education: Dissertation Fellows and Their Research” on Monday, April 16, provides highlights of dissertation research by 45 graduate students supported by four grant and fellowship programs. David Myers (American Institutes for Research) and William Schmidt (Michigan State University and AERA Grants Program) will speak at the 4:05 p.m. session.

Attendees seeking new job opportunities should plan to participate in the AERA Career Center, a dedicated space where employers and job seekers meet for prescheduled interviews. The center will run from Saturday, April 14, to Monday, April 16, in Vancouver, but those interested in participating must register beforehand.

Attendees seeking to publish research will want to visit Journal Talks, a series of six informal roundtable sessions in which journal editors make themselves available to talk with prospective authors. More than 120 journals will be represented, each in one of the six sessions. To find your favorite journal, visit the online summary listing of session assignments.
