2019 Award Nominations

Each year the Multicultural/Multiethnic Education SIG honors individuals who exemplify the scholar-practitioner focus of the SIG through their contribution to the field of multicultural and multiethnic education. We are accepting nominations for our three prestigious awards, which will be presented during the 2019 AERA annual conference:

a.) Carlos J. Vallejo Memorial Award for Emerging Scholarship - The purpose of this award is to recognize an advanced doctoral student or Assistant Professor whose scholarly contributions are poised to contribute to scholarship in the field of  multicultural/multiethnic education. The nominee must be a doctoral student or a pre-tenure junior scholar.

b.) Carlos J. Vallejo Memorial Award for Exemplary Scholarship - The purpose of this award is to recognize a mid-career scholar (Associate Professor) whose scholarly contributions to multicultural/multiethnic education have been vital to research in this field.

c.) Carlos J. Vallejo Memorial Award for Lifetime Scholarship - The purpose of this award is to recognize a senior-level scholar whose scholarly career contributions to multicultural/multiethnic education have and continue to play a significant role in shaping the field.

Recipients will be selected based upon:
