Mission/Statement of Purpose
The purpose of the MDE-SIG is to foster theory, research and application in the area of moral development and education. The MDE-SIG is multidisciplinary and international in its orientation.
Message from the Chair
Dear SIG Members,
It is a pleasure to take on service to you as the chair of the Moral Development and Education SIG. In the past two years, Glen Rogers has served in an exemplary way, setting the way forward as we move towards adopting new by-laws, positions and practices as required by the administration of the AERA. I will take up where he has left off and will be guiding you, along with Lisa Johnson, our current program chair, in the new practices beginning this summer.
Two new practices that will affect us this summer are: first, conference proposals are due on July 15, and second, that we need experienced scholars as reviewers who will take on doing around 10 reviews. AERA wants an expert panel whom will take on a significant number of reviews and rate them according to a broad view of the applications. Lisa will be providing you more information about this.
Meanwhile, have a lovely May and June. We will look for your proposals in July.
