AERA Comment on the STEM School Highlands Ranch Shooting

AERA extends its sympathy to the family, friends, and community of STEM School Highlands Ranch affected by the event—which comes just a week after a similar tragedy at UNC Charlotte. It is far too frequent that AERA needs to issue statements and urge essential research and evidence-based policies and programs to prevent gun violence and improve school climates. AERA held a Town Hall to examine the dynamics and patterns of gun violence in U.S. schools and communities during its 2019 Annual Meeting.
