AERA's Awards Program is one of the most prominent ways for education researchers to recognize and honor the outstanding scholarship and service of their peers. Recipients of AERA awards are announced and recognized during the Annual Presidential Address and Awards Presentation, which has become one of the most important and highly attended events of the AERA Annual Meeting. A Call for Nominations for AERA Awards is published each spring, usually in the May or June issue of Educational Researcher, and also appears on the AERA website. Nominations are generally due in early November. For a list of members currently serving on each of AERA’s award committees, or additional information about each award, click here for award committee rosters.

Divisions shall be organized to represent major scholarly or scientific areas within education research that add to the field and the Association as determined by Council. A group of five percent or more of the Association Members may petition the Association Council to establish a Division. A new Division is established when two-thirds of Council members present approve the petition at a meeting of the Association Council.
