The White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has proposed sweeping changes to federal grantmaking regulations that could significantly affect federally funded education research. AERA encourages members to review the proposal and submit comments describing how the changes would affect education research, researchers, institutions, students, and the public. Public comments are due by July 13, 2026.
Following the transition to AERA's new membership system last fall, some members who previously held division and SIG affiliations were not carried forward during the 2026 renewal process. AERA has identified affected members and will begin personalized outreach in the coming weeks. Read more
