The deadline for nominations for the 2021 Yidan Prize for Education Research and Yidan Prize for Education Development is March 31. The recipient of each award receives HK$30 million (around US$3.9 million). Learn more
The deadline for the 2021 Klaus J. Jacobs Research Prize is March 14. The prize is awarded for outstanding scientific contributions by individuals from all scholarly disciplines aiming to improve the learning, development, and living conditions of children and youth. The recipient receives 1 million Swiss francs (approximately US$1.12 million) for a research project and related costs. Learn more

In Memoriam
AERA Members who have recently passed away
|
Barbara Leeper Goebel, 99, died on December 30. She retired in 1989 as a professor of psychology at Illinois State University where she had taught for 25 years. Read more
John Edgar Peifer, 88, died on January 31. He retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Education in 1986, where he held several positions over 16 years. Read more
Richard Elmore, 77, an emeritus professor of education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, died in February. He had been a member of AERA Division A–Administration, Organization, and Leadership and Division L–Educational Policy and Politics. Read more
Ye (Angel) Wang, 44, an associate professor of deaf and hard of hearing and co-director of Teacher College’s Institute for Psychological Science and Practice at Columbia University died in February 2021. She had been a program chair of AERA SIG 95 Research on Education of Deaf Persons. Read more
Arun Raman, 36, died on January 9. He was a Ph.D. student in the Developmental Education program at Texas State University. Raman was a member of Division J–Postsecondary Education. Read more
