    AERA Offers Strong Support for Proposed Test of 2024 ACS Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Measures 
   On November 20, AERA co-signed a letter with 186 other national, state, and local organizations to offer strong support for a proposal issued by the U.S. Census Bureau to conduct a test of sexual orientation, gender identity, and variations in sex characteristics measures on the American Community Survey. Read more

    Jeroen J. G. van MerriĆ«nboer, 64, died on November 15. He was an emeritus professor of learning and instruction at Maastricht University. Van MerriĆ«nboer was an AERA Fellow and a member of Division C–Learning and Instruction. Read more 
   Lee A. Wicklund, 84, died on June 23. He taught or held administrative positions at the elementary through doctoral levels, including at the University of Wisconsin–Superior. He also served as an adjunct professor for the University of Oregon and University of Washington. Wicklund was a member of Division A–Administration, Organization, and Leadership.
