Professor of Education
Harvard Graduate School of Education
Member of Division D - Measurement & Research Methodology

I credit AERA with introducing me to my academic community, recognizing and promoting my research, and broadening my own exposure to the full spectrum of educational research. One of my first AERA presentations put my dissertation research on “metric-free methods” on the map. When Division D honored me with the Mary Catherine Ellwein Outstanding Dissertation Award in 2007, they increased the visibility of my research nationally. The AERA journals, Educational Researcher and Journal of Educational and Behavioral Statistics, have published and promoted some of my most cited and significant work. And AERA has kept me exposed to diverse research approaches, for example, through my committee work on the minority fellowship advisory committee. I would not be where I am now without this organization and the people, network, and ideas it represents.
