Hello! Welcome to the Systems Thinking in Education Special Interest Group.  I am excited to serve in my first year as SIG Chair in 2022-2023. I encourage you to learn more about all the officers of this SIG by clicking on the “Who we are” link in the menu bar.

The purpose of the Systems Thinking in Education SIG is to focus on applications of systems thinking principles to address various issues in education. Systems thinking is a cross-disciplinary concept that spans a diversity of issues, populations, and contexts, and, thus, can foster system-level critical analyses of research and contextualization of truth. We pride ourselves in offering a welcoming venue for research that draws on transdisciplinary theories and constructs, integrated methods, and research approaches that aim to answer a breadth of questions from causal to interpretive/descriptive.

I invite you to check out our Latest Announcements section for news related to the SIG and to visit us at the next AERA Annual Meeting.

I look forward to working with all of you!
