Call for Newsletter Articles
Summer, 2020 Edition of the AERA Qualitative Research SIG
We are seeking contributions from QR SIG members for the Summer newsletter.
Ideas for submissions include (but are certainly not limited to):
- recent methodological innovations
- ponderings and wanderings about qualitative inquiry
- tensions in and around the use of qualitative methods
- responses to critiques
- challenges in your work
- qualitative research and current events
- theoretical issues related to your qualitative work
- implications for qualitative work in education
- video interviews or other interactive pieces
- artwork
Articles are typically between 400-1000 words but the editor can work with you regarding space issues. Pictures, poems, quotes, video interviews and other genres/mediums are welcome.
Please send submissions either to Lucinda Carspecken at lcarspec@indiana.edu or to a specific Column editor (if listed below) by midnight, July 12th, 2020.
Newsletter Columns
Methods News and Notes: This section will highlight one or more SIG member’s scholarship in qualitative research. If you’ve had a recently published methodological paper you would like us to describe, please email Noah Goodman at ngoodman@edc.org
Graduate Student Shout-Out This column is a way to share information specific to grad students with our membership. Please email Erin Leach at eleach@uga.edu
Spotlight on a new Qualitative Inquiry Text will share QR SIG members’ recently published texts, and should include a short description from the author(s).
Digital Tech Tools: This section of the newsletter features reviews on technological innovations relevant to qualitative researchers. If you’d like to contribute please email Lucinda Carspecken at lcarspec@indiana.edu
Introduce a QR member and graduate student: The purpose of this section is to highlight a new/current member, along with their research. Perhaps you know of a member who is doing interesting work, or a graduate student who is new to the QR SIG. Feel free to introduce yourself.
