| Abstract: |
This study examines the longitudinal trajectory and influencing factors of openness to diversity among college students in South Korea. Using data from the Korea National Educational Longitudinal Survey 2005, we employed multilevel growth modeling to analyze changes in openness to diversity over time. Findings indicate a decrease in openness to diversity over time, while suggesting that factors such as institutional location, size, student-faculty interaction, and learning experiences from failure play a positive role in shaping the initial levels of openness to diversity. However, most other college experiences related variables do not seem to have a significant impact. Based on these results, we propose policy implications that promote openness to diversity as an established key outcome of higher education.
