| Abstract: |
This study investigated the phenomenon of citizenship pressure (CP) in schools. CP in the school setting is a job demand that causes teachers to feel pressured to contribute above and beyond the call of duty. We scrutinized whether teacher subject team CP is translated to team organizational citizenship behavior (OCB). We also examined the impact of differential school factors on teacher subject team experience of CP. Specifically, we examined the differential effect of four external forces‒school administration, subject coordinators, school atmosphere, and successful teachers. Results from 91 subject teams revealed a significant and positive relationship between team CP and team OCB, and showed the differential influence of the four external sources on team CP in schools.
