Abstract: This project explores the networked interactions of student activists around a common concern defined by the hashtag #DiversityisNotInclusion, generated by students at an accessible public university that is Hispanic-serving. The study is framed by critical race theory (CRT). Social network analysis was employed to visualize the communicative connections between activists and critical discourse analysis to qualitatively analyze the social media content produced and circulated by student activists. Findings indicate thats tudent activists used the hashtag #DiversityisNotInclusion to organize an inclusive social space and to amplify counter-stories of exclusion in higher education.
