| Abstract: |
Although interest in user and learner experience (LX) research is growing in learning and instructional design and technology, a range of issues limit its uptake and spread, such as lack of semantic clarity, inadequate methodological guidelines, and insufficient theoretical grounding. This session details the outcomes of a qualitative content analysis of 15 book chapters that sought to approach questions of how active researchers and practitioners in the field of learning design and technology conceive of learner experience and associated concepts and how these concepts are characterized. Three axioms emerged from this research study: (1) axiom of transdisciplinarity, (2) axiom of complexity, (3) axiom of multiple literacies. These axioms will be detailed in the full session, and implications will be discussed.
