AERA 2020 Virtual Research Learning Series

AERA is now providing on demand the nine research courses that were offered in the 2020 Virtual Research Learning Series through September. The very popular series drew nearly 5,200 registrants when offered live; they are now available in the AERA Virtual Research Learning Center (VRLC). Videos of the nine courses, related PowerPoint slides, and other materials are all available through the VRLC. The on-demand courses are offered at a low registration fee of $35 each to maximize access for scholars at all career stages. Registrants have access to these four-hour courses whenever and for as many times as they wish.

The courses feature high-quality lectures, tailored for a virtual format, from leading experts in the field. They cover a substantial breadth of topics and research methodologies for various stages of research. Designed for researchers at different skill levels, the courses are intended particularly for graduate students, early-career scholars, and other researchers seeking to build new knowledge or skills.

The nine courses include:

  • RL-1—What Would It Take to Change Your Inference? Quantifying the Discourse About Causal Inferences in the Social Sciences
  • RL-2—How to Get Published: Guidance From Emerging and Established Scholars
  • RL-3—Sharing Your Research With the World
  • RL-4—Introduction to Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
  • RL-5—The Future Is Here: Analyzing NAEP Process Data Using R
  • RL-6—How to Write About Qualitative Research
  • RL-7—Empowerment Evaluation
  • RL-8—Using Factor Analysis for Survey Design and Validation
  • RL-9—Co-Decolonizing Research Methods: Toward Research Sustaining Indigenous and “Other” Community-Engaged Ways of Knowing
