Additionally, AERA is extending the deadline for creating presentations for the gallery to October 30.

The first authors of papers for paper sessions, roundtables, or poster sessions accepted for presentation at the 2020 Annual Meeting will receive a reminder invite this week to create an account. First authors of session papers accepted for symposia will receive their initial invite this week. Once first authors have an account, they may turn over the creation of an interactive poster to another author; however, first-listed authors need to begin the process.

During AERA’s August 28 online Town Hall on the 2021 Virtual Annual Meeting, AERA Executive Director Felice J. Levine and AERA Director of Meeting Robert Smith previewed the iPoster platform.

“The interest and energy expressed by Town Hall attendees to the potential of the Interactive Presentation Gallery for presentation of papers only reinforced our own sense that AERA is on the right track in offering such an opportunity to authors to communicate their research in innovative and interactive ways,” said Levine. “The presentation platform is not only interactive, but it also allows authors to engage in chats or schedule virtual meetups with interested scholars. What a great way to engage in networking on current research year long—well after an Annual Meeting concludes.”

Complementing AERA’s Online Paper Repository, the gallery is a web-based platform for sharing presentations from meetings. AERA is launching the gallery this year with a focus on papers accepted for the cancelled 2020 AERA Annual Meeting that were never presented.

The gallery will launch with open access on November 2—one business day after the final presentations are finalized.
