Welcome to Division J where it is my distinct honor to serve as your Vice President. I’m not going to sugar-coat this – we are in tumultuous and dangerous times, when post-secondary education is under attack. Therefore, I find these collective spaces such as Division J more important than ever to both support and protect each other.

Division J of AERA focuses on scholars, professionals, and students who study postsecondary issues such as higher education organizations, policy, college student experiences and transitions, and university curricular issues. In our collective space in Division J, we are an academic community that produces cutting-edge, rigorous, scholarly inquiry, while also translating that work into making postsecondary contexts more equitable and just in the process.

I look forward to working with you throughout the year, and in particular, at the annual meeting.
