Message from SIG Chair

Kathleen Provinzano is an Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership at Drexel University (awarded tenure and promotion to Associate Professor effective 9/1/23). She teaches research methods, education policy, and educational leadership courses in the PhD, EdD, and MS programs. Dr. Provinzano’s research interests are associated with urban comprehensive school reform specifically, full-service community school strategies, leadership dynamics in full-service community schools, and the reciprocal influence of community school programming on local neighborhoods. In addition to multiple books chapters, her research has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals including, Urban EducationEducational Administration QuarterlyEducation Policy Analysis ArchivesJournal of Education for Students Placed at Risk (JESPAR), and Leadership and Policy in Schools. Dr. Provinzano is Co-founder and Co-Director of Community Schools HUB, a virtual platform designed to connect community school researchers and practitioners and serves as an Associate Editor for the Handbook of Research, Policy, and Practice in School-University Partnerships. She is an experienced K-12 practitioner, having worked as an elementary building administrator, secondary school counselor, and high school social studies teacher. Her work is situated in collaborative, research-practice partnerships in full-service community schools.
