Dual-Component 2023 Annual Meeting to Offer New Opportunities for Attendees

AERA Unveils Revamped Online Paper Repository
AERA has released the redesigned Online Paper Repository with papers added from both the 2021 and 2022 annual meetings. Visitors to the repository will immediately see the inviting new look that includes a new color palette, graphics from each of the annual meetings, and improved functionality. Read more

AERA Relaunches Undergraduate Student Workshop for 2023 Annual Meeting​
AERA has announced that it will reintroduce the Undergraduate Student Education Research Training Workshop at the 2023 AERA Annual Meeting in Chicago, April 13–15. Read more

AERA Kicks Off 2023 Doctoral Cohort Program Enrollment—Sign Up Now for Discounted Membership for First-Year Students
AERA has opened enrollment for the 2023 Doctoral Cohort Program. The program allows participating graduate programs from around the globe to offer special introductory AERA membership for first-year doctoral students. Read more

AERA Announces Two Visiting Appointments for 2022-23
Two visitors, Phoebe H. Stevenson and Joyce Alexander, are joining the AERA staff for 2022–23. Stevenson joined on September 1 as senior adviser for operations, infrastructure, finance, and technology; Alexander will join on October 1 as dean-in-residence. Read more

AERA Past President and Fellow Linda Darling-Hammond Awarded Yidan Prize for Education Research
AERA Past President (1995–96) Linda Darling-Hammond has been named the 2022 Yidan Prize Laureate for Education Research. This prize is one of the most prestigious awards worldwide in the field. Read more

In Memoriam

AERA members who have recently passed away

Walter M. Haney, 76, died on August 31. He served as a professor at the Boston College Lynch School of Education and Human Development and a senior research associate at the Center for the Study of Testing, Evaluation, and Educational Policy. Read more

Jeremy Kilpatrick, 86, died on September 17. Kilpatrick was Regents Professor of Mathematics Education at the University of Georgia. He was an AERA Fellow and served on the AERA Grants Program Governing Board. Read more

Nel Noddings, 93, died on August 25. Noddings was the Lee L. Jacks Professor, Emerita, at Stanford Graduate School of Education. She was an AERA Fellow. Read more

Susan Bell Trickett, 66, died on August 8. She was a senior impact consultant at ResultsLab and had earlier served as executive director of the Cogntive Science Society. Read more
