AERA is pleased to announce that the co-editor team for the American Educational Research Journal (AERJ) will be extended for two additional years through 2024. The extended team will include current editor-in-chief Ellen Goldring (Vanderbilt University) and co-editors Angela Calabrese Barton (University of Michigan), Sean Kelly (University of Pittsburgh), Madeline Mavrogordato (Michigan State University), and Peter Youngs (University of Virginia). Michael Cunningham (Tulane University) will complete his term as co-editor in 2022.

The continuing editors were appointed in October by AERA President Na’ilah Suad Nasir, with the enthusiastic recommendation of the AERA Journal Publications Committee.

“On behalf of the association, we could not be more pleased that this team of highly distinguished scholars with an openness and commitment to inclusivity will continue to serve for an additional two years,” said AERA Executive Director Felice J. Levine. “With an editor-in-chief like Ellen and an exceptional team of co-editors, we know that the trains will not only run on time but will also get to the right destinations.”

AERJ is AERA’s flagship journal, featuring articles that advance the empirical, theoretical, and methodological understanding of education and learning. It publishes original peer-reviewed analyses that span the field of education research across all subfields and disciplines and all levels of analysis. It also encourages submissions across all levels of education throughout the life span and all forms of learning. AERJ welcomes submissions of the highest quality, reflecting a wide range of perspectives, topics, contexts, and methods, including interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary work.
