AERA Executive Board Approves Annual Meeting COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement

November 2021

On November 5, the AERA Executive Board voted to require COVID vaccinations and masking for all registrants, attendees, participants, and staffs throughout the place-based component of the 2022 AERA Annual Meeting and all event spaces. The masking requirement will remain in place unless guidance from public health authorities leading up to the Annual Meeting recommends that the AERA Council revisit this policy.

“We are committed to ensuring that the in-person experience is as safe as possible and to following evidence-based practices and policies to protect the health of everyone on site at conference facilities,” said AERA Executive Felice J. Levine. “We will continue to closely track COVID-19 conditions nationally, globally, and locally in California, and follow the guidance provided by public health officials.”

Proof of being fully vaccinated is required when registering for the placed-based Annual Meeting. Procedures for doing so online will be announced in advance of preregistration opening on December 9.
