Registration for 2021 AERA Virtual Annual Meeting to Open January 12

December  2020

Registration for the 2021 Virtual Annual Meeting will open on Tuesday, January 12. The meeting will be held Thursday, April 8–Monday, April 12. AERA is expanding the meeting by a day (the original start date was April 9) so that sessions can be scheduled at times that better accommodate the maximum number of attendees across time zones around the world. The online program and opportunities for registrants to begin planning informal social gatherings will be available in February. The meeting theme is “Accepting Educational Responsibility.”

Once meeting attendees have registered, they will have an opportunity to sign up for virtual professional development and training courses. An extensive program of courses will focus on skill development in implementing statistical techniques, communicating and writing research, qualitative research methods, and other research capacity-building areas.

“While we will miss interacting with colleagues and friends face-to-face, this year’s virtual meeting will provide an exciting opportunity to innovate with interactive platforms that allow for meaningful, real-time engagement and provide opportunities for presenters to potentially reach audiences they otherwise would not at a placed-based meeting,” said AERA Executive Director Felice J. Levine. “During these challenging times, we are thrilled to be creating a virtual experience that will be rewarding to all attendees.”
