The AERA Graduate Student Council (GSC) Nominating Committee welcomes recommendations of well-qualified individuals as potential candidates to run for GSC office in the 2021 election. The GSC plans and coordinates activities that advance the professional interests of graduate students in the association, based on policies and procedures approved by AERA Council.

The offices open for the 2021 election are:  

  • Chair-Elect (three-year term: Chair-Elect 2021–2022; Chair 2022–2023; Past Chair 2023–2024)
  • Junior Newsletter Editor (two-year term: Junior Newsletter Editor 2021–2022; Senior Newsletter Editor 2022–2023)
  • Junior Campus Outreach Coordinator (two-year term: Junior Campus Outreach Coordinator 2021–2022; Senior Campus Outreach Coordinator 2022–2023) (this position is pending approval by AERA Council) 
  • Secretary Historian (one-year term: 2021–2022)
  • Social Media & Website Editor (one-year term: 2021–2022) (formerly Web Secretary)

Position descriptions are available here. All terms begin at the conclusion of the 2021 Annual Meeting. Individuals may recommend themselves as candidates.

All recommendations must be received by 11:59 pm Pacific Time on Tuesday, September 15, 2020. Nominees will be announced in November, and the election will launch in early January 2021.
