Vivian L. Gadsden Voted AERA President-Elect
Vivian L. Gadsden (University of Pennsylvania) has been voted president-elect of AERA. Her term as president begins at the conclusion of AERA’s 2016 Annual Meeting. 
Key Members Elected to AERA Council
AERA members selected several new AERA Council representatives, including two members-at-large, four division vice presidents-elect, and a chair-elect of the Graduate Student Council, among others.
King, Lagemann, Tate, Franklin Among Headliners at 2015 Annual Meeting
The 2015 Annual Meeting, to be held in Chicago this year (April 16–20), offers a distinguished list of speakers. The event is the single-largest annual gathering of scholars in the education research field.

AERA Delegation Meets With Capitol Hill and White House Staff
On March 16 and 17, a delegation of nine AERA members, led by AERA Executive Director Felice J. Levine and Government Relations Director Juliane Baron, met with White House staff and key congressional offices.  

AERA Announces 2015 Award Winners in Education Research
AERA has announced the winners of its 2015 awards for excellence in education research. Recipients will be honored for their outstanding scholarship at an awards ceremony at the AERA Annual Meeting.
AERA to Publish Three New Books
AERA will publish three books in April with groundbreaking scholarship in critical emerging areas of education research.

COSSA Holds Annual Meeting and Hill Day
The Consortium of Social Science Associations held its 2015 Annual Meeting and Social and Behavioral Science Advocacy Day on March 9 and 10, bringing together more than 100 members of the social and behavioral science community. 

NSF Releases Public Access Plan for Agency-Funded Research
The National Science Foundation has announced a public access plan, Today’s Data, Tomorrow’s Discoveries, that details the requirements for providing public access to publications and conference papers drawn from NSF-funded research. 

House Panels Hold Hearing on Education Department, NSF Budget Proposals
House Appropriations subcommittees have been busy in March with several hearings on education and National Science Foundation–related FY 2016 budget requests.
