SIG Chair

Welcome to the AERA Online Teaching and Learning SIG!

The Special Interest Group for Online Teaching and Learning is committed to providing a forum for discussion and reporting on issues and advancing research related to online teaching and learning. This includes all forms of distance education with an online component, such as hybrid and blended learning. The SIG is interested in the activities of teaching and learning as well as the resources that support these. Such resources include digital instructional materials, programs, and applications. Open Educational Resources and Open Education processes as related to online learning are of emerging interested in the field and the SIG.

Online Teaching and Learning members come from a variety of disciplines and contribute to a vibrant and eclectic community of researchers, practitioners, and designers. Together, members in the group leverage shared understandings about research, practice, and policies under the shared goal to advance the availability of high quality online learning for all learners in all learning settings.

We are excited that you are joining this community! Feel free to contact any of the SIG Officers listed on this website and, most importantly, get involved with the SIG. There are many ways you can get involved by submitting proposals, running for a SIG officer, becoming a proposal reviewer, or working on special projects. Please join us on Twitter and Facebook.
