The Journal of Educational and Behavioral Statistics (JEBS) is planning a special issue featuring promising work from early career scholars. JEBS editors, Matthew Johnson and Sandip Sinharay, are dedicating the issue to highlight exemplars of important scholarship applying statistical approaches in educational or behavioral research.

Paper are sought that present new methods of analysis. In addition, critical reviews of current practice, tutorial presentations of less well known methods, and novel applications of better known methods will be considered. Papers discussing statistical techniques without specific educational or behavioral interest will have lower priority.

The lead author must be an early career scholar who does not yet have a doctoral degree or who received a doctoral degree in 2009 or later. Based on peer review, four to six of the most competitive will be published in this JEBS special issue.

Articles should conform to the JEBS manuscript submission guidelines. Authors should indicate in their cover letter that they are submitting to this special issue and stipulate how they meet the criterion specified for early career scholars.
