Email Newsletter September 2022

Dear Educational Change SIG Members,

We hope you all had a strong and positive start to your year. I, for one, have been bolstered by the sense of community coming together has brought. I missed my students and the hum of the campus!

I have also missed the opportunity to celebrate all of you and your many accomplishments as well as to share some of the work we have been doing.  In this note are some thank yous, a new Lead the Change, our members’ work, and a Job Posting.

First, thank you to our reviewers! We appreciate you and our wonderful program chair Osnat Fellus for keeping us moving along!

Second, we have a new Lead the Change with Dr. Preston Green, from the University of Connecticut. Dr. Green speaks about the intersection of educational change and the law. As you will read there is a lot going on in this area and we are thrilled to add his voice to this series. Enjoy!

We would also like to put a plug for you to add our twitter handle @EdChangeSig to any of your work that you are promoting - we want to boost your work and share it with as many people as possible.

On that note, we are happy to share the following two pieces from members:

Fellus, O., Low, D. E., Guzmán, L. D., Kasman, A., & Mason, R. T. (2022). Hidden figures, hidden messages: The construction of mathematical identities with children’s picturebooks. For the Learning of Mathematics, 42(2), 2-8.

Kew, K., & Fellus, O. (2022). Borderland education beyond frontiers: Policy, community, and educational change during times of crisis. Policy Futures in Education, 20(4). https://doi.org/10.1177/14782103221076642
