Dear Educational Change SIG Members,

Greetings from the Northeastern U.S. where spring has sprung and many of us are enjoying a chance to be outside and see the flowers blooming. In the spirit of renewal, I would like to introduce you to your new SIG leadership team!

Jennie Weiner, Chair

Olga O. Fellus, Program Chair

Corinne Brion, Secretary/Treasurer

Alexandra Lamb, Lead the Change Editor

We are so lucky and grateful to the entire SIG community and the continued commitment, involvement and orientation towards inclusivity we have each experienced as members. We also want to give a particular shout out to Kristin Kew,  Mirelle Hubers, Na Mi Bang and Min Jung Kim who have served the SIG upholding our mission and values at every step of the way.

We will be rolling out a variety of new initiatives this year to build on our already strong foundations. To make our work a success we need your help!

As the school year winds down, we, your Ed Change SIG leadership team, are hard at work continuing the great work of our predecessors. This includes supporting the most inclusive and democratically oriented SIG as possible. To achieve this, we need your help and support. We are looking to recruit all those who are ready, willing, and able to help the SIG grow and evolve over the coming years. In particular, we need individuals who could:

  1. Support and build our social media and communication efforts
  2. Help us build stronger community connections across our partners and others
  3. Have other great ideas to make our SIG better and more inclusive!

If you are interested in this work, please email Jennie Weiner @ jennie.weiner@uconn.edu with your name, contact information, and interests. We can’t wait to work with you!

Prep for AERA

Please sign up to be a volunteer reviewer for our SIG for the AERA 2022 (info here). Additionally, the theme for 2022 is here - submissions will be here before you know it - so get those good ed change ideas flowing!!

Recruit a Friend

The health and financial stability of our SIG depends on our membership. During this year, we ask that everyone recruits new members (We love doctoral students!).  We will be adding new awards and mentoring opportunities throughout the year to support these efforts. Per AERA for SIG Membership: Non-members, please click here to become a member of AERA and one or more SIGs or to renew your AERA and SIG memberships. Current AERA members can add individual SIGs to their membership by clicking “Login,” entering their user name and password, and clicking on “Purchase Additional SIG Memberships” in their My AERA page.

Tell us what you want!

Contact jennie.weiner@uconn.edu or any of the other SIG officers with ideas, comments, or anything else. We are here to serve the community and want the SIG to be a place that meets your needs.
