SIG Leadership Opportunity

The Classroom Assessment SIG is seeking self-nominations for Secretary/Treasurer. This is a three-year elected position. Beginning in April 2027, the elected member will first serve as Secretary/Treasurer, followed by Program Chair in the second year, and Chair of the SIG in the third year. If you are interested in serving the SIG in this role or nominating someone and would like more information, please contact Erin Riley-Lepo (rileylee@tcnj.edu). Nominations are due October 19. 2026.

2027 Award Opportunities

The Classroom Assessment SIG is seeking nominations/applications for two awards:

• Emerging Scholar Award in Classroom Assessment — recognizes outstanding emerging scholarship by graduate students and early-career scholars who are advancing classroom assessment theory and practice.
• Distinguished Paper Award — recognizes an outstanding paper presented in a Classroom Assessment SIG session at the 2026 AERA Annual Meeting.

Applications for both awards should be sent to Awards Assistant Chair Kyla McClure (kmcclure@nciea.org) with the subject line CA SIG Emerging Scholar Award/CA SIG Distinguished Paper Award by November 20, 2026. Resource for Classroom Assessment

A Resource to Improve Classroom Assessment for Student Success: Research, Practice, Policy, and the Public is intended to illuminate ways we can engage with classroom assessment research and research-informed work and communication across a variety of mediums, modalities, and audiences. Embedded within the resource is a call to connect with one another so we can better coordinate our individual and collective leadership and better support one another.
