2007 Annual Convention
Reviewers, Discussants, Chairs, and Mentors Needed!
Peer review is an integral part of our scholarly community’s quest for valid, robust, and useful knowledge. Putting together a quality program for the Annual Convention is possible only through the efforts of many volunteer reviewers. Individuals willing to review proposals and/or to serve as discussants or session chairs are strongly encouraged to register, using the AERA Online Proposal Submission System.
The Program Committee would especially like to invite senior scholars to volunteer to serve as mentors for junior scholars. Volunteer mentors may be assigned to serve as discussants in sessions with junior scholars, including paper discussion and poster sessions. All reviewers, discussants, chairs, and mentors who have volunteered in past years must re-register online if they wish to participate in the 2007 cycle.
Abbreviated Volunteer Sign Up Instructions
To volunteer as a reviewer, chair, or discussant, please follow these instructions:

Click on the above "AERA Online Proposal Submission System" link to gain access to the log in page. Enter your ID# and password then click the login button;

The system will take you to the "edit your record" page. Take a moment to review your contact information and make appropriate changes. Click on the "Submit Your 2007 Annual Conference proposal and to Volunteer…" link at the top of the page to take you to the next step in the process;

The system will take you to the "main page" of the electronic submission system. On this page, please click on the "volunteer" link;

The next screen will be the "Edit Personal Profile" screen. Please fill out the requested information and then click on the "Apply" box at the bottom right of the screen;

The system will then show you a full set of AERA units that you may volunteer your services: Reviewer, Chair, and Discussant. Click on one unit from the screen to advance you to the next screen;

On this screen, the system will allow you to indicate your volunteer preferences for the unit that you have selected. Also, on this screen, the system will give you the opportunity to volunteer for additional units - by clicking on the "Volunteer for Another" link to the lower left of the screen. Remember, click on the "Accept Continue" button on the lower right of the screen to advance to the next and final screen when you have finished registering your preferences;

On the final screen, the system will display your "volunteer report." Please note: you may edit your preferences at any time by returning to this page and clicking on the "Edit Volunteers" link. Click on the "Accept and Continue" link to finalize the volunteer process.
