Effects of graduates' field of study and college quality on early experiences in the labor market

FINAL REPORT:

This study examined the effects of graduates' field of study and college quality on their early experiences in the labor market. While most studies analyze the effects of either field of study or college quality, I employ a synthetic approach which takes into account both of these variables' influence on graduates' income and occupational studies. While this project centers on developing a better understanding of the combined effects of college quality and field of study, I extend the research to consider two additional topics. First, to what extent do these combinations of effects explain differences in the employment experiences of men and women? Second, how does this kind of analysis aid in tracing women's and men's entry into employment and graduate education in scientific fields?
