This webinar describes the IES Using Longitudinal Data to Support State Policymaking grant program (84.305S) which supports state education agencies’ (SEAs’) use of their longitudinal data systems to generate evidence for making policy decisions. It also offers a potential opportunity for researchers outside of state government to collaborate with SEA staff.

This is a new IES grant program, described in the Request for Applications available HERE. State education agencies can apply for these grants on their own or in collaboration with other organizations such as universities, research firms, and other state agencies. Presenters will discuss the requirements that must be met and recommendations for writing a strong grant application.

Researchers drawn to longitudinal education data are encouraged to join this webinar whether or not they have previously worked with data from a State Longitudinal Data System (SLDS). Approximately one-third of the time will be reserved for questions and comments on your research ideas.
