AERA Annual Meeting Preview Returns

AERA is pleased to provide this first issue of AERA14 Preview. Launched in advance of the 2012 Annual Meeting, and now in its third year, this and subsequent previews will provide meeting attendees a glimpse of what to expect at the 95th Annual Meeting in Philadelphia.

Over 13,000 education researchers from more than 60 countries are expected to turn out for the Annual Meeting and present the latest in education research in 2,400+ sessions. Anchoring the program this year is the theme “The Power of Education Research for Innovation in Practice and Policy,” showcasing ground-breaking, innovative studies in a diverse array of areas, from early education through higher education, from digital learning to second language literacy. The program and the app can be searched by presenters, sessions types (e.g., Presidential, division), and topics. A little advance study and a quick read of AERA14 Preview can provide a valuable jumpstart.

In addition to this first communiqué, another AERA14 Preview will be sent prior to the Annual Meeting. Also, you will receive a daily preview of highlighted events on each of the five days of the meeting. Whether you are attending the meeting in person or attending parts of it online, AERA14 Preview will keep you on top of key programming.
Annual Meeting App Anticipated Release Date: March 25

The Annual Meeting mobile app will be ready for downloading by March 25, 2014. The app gives attendees comprehensive information on the meeting, including session times and locations, presenter names and affiliations, and an exhibitor directory keyed to an exhibit hall map. With the app, you will be able to build a custom meeting schedule, connect with colleagues, and engage through social media. It is compatible with the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Android, and BlackBerry devices, and available for all other web browser–enabled phones, as well as PCs, through a web-based platform version.

Free Wi-Fi will be available in every session and throughout the convention center and Philadelphia Marriott Downtown hotel, giving you complete access to online Annual Meeting information at all times. Stay tuned to the AERA website, emails, and social media for download instructions as soon as the app is ready.
