Volunteer Meal Service
  • AERA Annual Meeting attendees will be covering the Monday morning shift from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on April 29. We need at least 25 attendees to participate.
  • Please RSVP for the AERA volunteer opportunity here.

  • Glide serves several meals each day at 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.; on Monday through Friday it also provides dinner at 4:00 p.m. Please feel free to participate as often as possible. Volunteers need to arrive at least 30 minutes before their shift. For more information, click here.

Tour of Glide Activities

  • AERA meeting attendees are invited to visit and see how Glide members engage the local community. The tour of Glide’s educational outreach activities will include the Youth and Childcare Center.

Computer Fund Campaign

  • Glide has requested support in purchasing a mobile Mac Lab that can be used for the tutoring program. Glide will need to raise approximately $15,000.
  • AERA meeting attendees are invited to participate in this initiative. Donate here. 

Celebration Services

  • For those interested, Glide has invited AERA meeting attendees to join the weekend celebration services. Services are on Sunday, April 28, at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

Presidential Session at AERA Annual Meeting

“Beyond the Possible: 50 Years of Creating Radical Change at a Community Called GLIDE”

  • Reverend Cecil Williams and Janice Mirikitani will discuss the work of GLIDE, a “radically inclusive, just and loving community mobilized to alleviate suffering and break the cycles of poverty and marginalization.”
  • April 30, 12:10–1:40, Hilton Union Square, Lobby Level, Plaza A.
