Message from the Chair
Welcome to the Bilingual Education SIG!
The Bilingual Education SIG represents quality research on multilingual children in multiple contexts around the world and across many different languages. As incoming chair, I am excited to build on the work that so many chairs have done before me and help move bi-and multilingual perspectives forward as a starting point for scholarship, policy, and practice.
I would like to thank Chris Faltis (past-Chair) and Theresa Austin (outgoing chair) for their mentorship and for their service to this SIG.I am looking forward to working with Chris and our newly elected officers, Laura Valdivieso (2010-2011 Program Chair), Mary Esther Huerta (2009-2011 Secretary/Treasurer) as well as our Membership Committee Chair (Rey Reyes) and webmaster (Kara Mitchell)!
This website will be in construction, so be sure to check it out and provide feedback!
